EPIK: Notice to successful applicants

Those of you who are waiting for the visa documents to arrive, please note the following.

Visa application:
Our Seoul office mailed out the visa documents. They should arrive sometime this week.
When you go to the Embassy/Consulate to apply for work visa, please make sure you bring: 1) sealed transcript, 2) original copy of degree, 3) photos, and 4) employment contract (you will receive 2, one for you to keep and the other one to bring to the Embassy/Consultate).

Orientation:
All teachers are supposed to arrive on 21st of February, 2008.
Book a flight ticket and let us know: 1) flight time, 2) departure city, and 3) price by no later than 8th of February.
For the airfare reimbursement, bring a copy of: 2) purchase receipt, 2) boarding pass.
All copies should be the original copies.

After-school ESL program teachers, Seoul, Gyeonggi, Incheon - CLOSED


Two public elementary schools are looking for ESL teachers for their after-school English programs.

The application process is simpler with less document requirement compared to the EPIK positions.

- Position: Full-time public elementary school ESL teacher
- Type: After-school English program
- Locations : 4 in Seoul, 4 in Gyeonggi, 3 in Incheon
- Start date: 3/1/2008
- Working hours: Mon-Fri 1pm-6pm
- Compensation: KRW2.0-2.3mn/month
- Benefits: 14+ days of paid vacation/ Round-trip airfare/ Year-end bonus/ 50% medical
- Required documents: Copy of degree/ Sealed transcript/ 2 pieces of passport photo/ Criminal record check/ Medical check

EPIK: Transcripts

The transcript is one of the required documents.

When you order transcripts, order two.

1) One should be sent directly to EPIK by your school and 2) the other one should be submitted to the Consulate/Embassy when you apply for work visa.

EPIK: Document deadline

For those of you who have successfully made a telephone interview with EPIK should submit all the required documents by Tuesday, January 15, 2008. Late submission may result in delay in the visa application process or loss of the position.

What to send:
- Copy of your application form with your hand-written signatures
- Copy of Degree
- 2 Transcripts – sealed
- Copy of passport’s picture-page
- 3 pieces of passport photo
- 2 recommendation letters – sealed
- Criminal record check
- Medical report (see attached)
- (If applicable) Copy of Teacher's certificate, TEFL, TESOL or CELTA certificate (100+ course hours)
- (If applicable) Proof of teaching experience (full-time)


How to send:
When the documents are ready, send them in a package via Fed-Ex, DHL or UPS to the address below and give us the tracking number.

EPIK: Spring 2008 Teacher Orientation

1. Orientation
- Period: Feb. 22 - 29, 2008

- Venue: Yusung Hotel, Daejeong, Chungnam
- Accommodation: Yusung Hotel
- Meals and snacks: Western-style foods to be provided.
- Program contents: Korean public school system, Introduction to Korean culture, etc.

2. Date of arrival
To attend the orientation, you’re expected to arrive at Incheon International Airport by Feb. 21, 2008 at the latest. Please notify us of your flight schedule in advance so that we can arrange an airport pick-up service for you.

3. Airfare reimbursement
Airfare will be reimbursed during the orientation.
Please make sure you bring the original copies of the following with you:
- passenger’s copy of flight ticket
-
ticket purchase receipt
- boarding pass(es).

4. Placement
- A coordinator from your POE (Provincial Office of Education) will come to the closing ceremony to pick you up and take you to the assigned school.

All EPIK openings will be closed on Monday, January 14, 2008.
